Home of the 1960 Winter Olympics.  With six peaks and over 4,000 acres of ski terrain, Squaw is a behemoth tribute to the sport.  This is still a major ski destination for people all over the world.  Add to that the summer activities and the nearby Nevada casinos with nightlife and you have one of the best vacation destinations for all members of your family.

During the winter, ski Squaw Valley USA.  Its sheer size may not be its most distinguishing feature however.  Rather its breadth is what is most impressive.  Extreme skiers can plunge off the forty-foot-high Palisades, while beginners tackle the easiest terrain just a valley away.  For those in between, 45 percent of the trails are rated intermediate and stretch across each of the peaks.  Ride the cable car to High Camp for year round recreation and dining.... all with spectacular top-of-the-mountain views.  If the snow does not inspire you, the views will; the azure lake gleams in the distance.
